Albania is one of my favourite countries and a trending destination in Europe. While some places are already quite well visited and can get pretty busy, the country still offers a lot of amazing hidden gems!
Especially popular are places like Ksamil in the South of Albania with picture-perfect beaches! But Albania also has incredible mountains, insane nature and beautiful fairytale towns!

General Information & Good To Know before visiting Albania
Language:
Albanian (English is mostly spoken in touristy areas)
Currency:
Albanian LEK (1 USD = apx. 80 LEK) € and $ are widely accepted in touristy areas, but the exchange rate used is typically quite bad.
Weather:
Similar to countries like Greece & Croatia. Sunny & hot in the summer and ideal conditions in the months of April, May, September & October. Winter is quite cold in Albania, especially in the mountains.
Safety:
I personally felt very safe throughout the country. It is generally a bit less developed than other countries and there are a lot of street dogs unfortunately, but people are very warm and welcoming. Generally always be aware of your surroundings and listen to your gut.
